The F82 BMW M4 consistently improved over its production cycle through successive updates, yet the M Division continued to develop more performance-oriented variants. The Competition Package, offering enhanced power and a revised suspension, represented an upgrade from the standard model. The GTS, featuring significantly increased power, water injection, a bespoke chassis, numerous lightweight components, and an aggressive aerodynamic package, stood as the most extreme iteration.
Positioned between these models was the BMW M4 CS, or Club Sport. This variant shared its chassis configuration with the Competition Package but incorporated Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, a feature derived from the GTS. It also adopted the GTS's carbon fibre bonnet, distinguished by a prominent front cooling vent, and utilised the same lightweight composite door cards, contributing to a curb weight of 1580kg. This represents a 32kg reduction compared to an M4 equipped with a DCT gearbox, though it remains 70kg heavier than the GTS. With an output of 454bhp, it offers a modest 10bhp increase over the Competition Pack M4 and is considerably less powerful than the GTS's 493bhp.
